Last Weekend in January

This was the last weekend in January. A regular busy weekend for our family.
Brandon had a football tournament Friday, Saturday and Sunday. They placed third overall.
Jaedelyn colored her whole body with a red dry erase marker. After she did it, she came to me crying and saying that she didn't mean too. I had to put her in the tub and clean her up because we were going to be leaving soon to go swimming with one of my friends and her three kids. The marker came off pretty easily and what I couldn't get off the chlorine in the pool did.
Then Sunday we went to church, came home for lunch and a nap and then Jaedelyn and I headed put to go grocery shopping.
All in all it was a good weekend!

Monday
This was a crazy snow filled week. It started out with a day off from work on Monday in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. But as usual I packed the day with things to do. We started the day by sending Brandon off to work. Then the girls and I went to Sara Miller's house for Anika's 9 month pictures. Anika was a bit of a grump so I hope the pictures turn out well.
Then we headed to Brandon's work to have lunch with him. He always loves showing the girls off to his co-workers. We had a great lunch at Panera and then took Brandon back to work. By that time Anika had fallen asleep so I was just driving around to kill time until her 9 month Doctor check up. Then all of a sudden I realized that I didn't have my phone with me. I remembered Anika chewing on it at lunch so I drove back to the restaurant and thankfully someone had turned it in for me. Then we kept driving until 1:30 for the doctor appointment.
The doctor appointment went well. Anika is still holding strong in the 95th percentile for height and weight. She have to have a finger poke so they could do a blood test. The test showed that she had a virus and needed a little bit more iron in her. Meanwhile Jaedelyn had gone to the bathroom and filled the sink with bubbles!
Then we headed to Target to get some snow suits. Much to my surprise, they had swim suits but no snow suits.
Then we went home. By that time all us girls were tired and needed a nap.
Brandon stopped at Fred Meyer and was able to find us the snow stuff we were needing and a 6 foot sled!

Tuesday
Then I went to work on Tuesday but left an hour early because everyone was saying that a huge snow storm was coming our way. Well, everyone else must have gone home earlier than I did because there were hardly any cars on the road.

Brandon had already planned to take the day off on Wednesday so he could play in the snow with the girls.

The snow didn't start falling until late that night.

Wednesday
Wow, it snowed over night about 5 inches in our neighborhood.
The sled Brandon had gotten on Monday came in handy. The neighborhood kids really liked going down the slide on the sled. It was also a great workout pulling the kids around the playground.
Latter that day we went to the baseball fields where there was more of a hill to go down. Jaedelyn had a great time but Anika wasn't very happy to be out in the snow.
It was a fun day and I'm glad we were able to have that time as a family.
Later that night after Anika was asleep, Brandon and I were talking about watching a movie. Jaedelyn chimed in, "are you going to watch a movie? In that case I want to watch a movie too!"
Jaedelyn talks like such a grown up sometimes it just amazes me.

Thursday
I stayed home with the girls. The schools were closed and there was no way I was going to try to drive to work. It was nice to be able to have some quiet time with my girls. Anika wasn't feeling her normal self so I was glad to be able to snuggle with her. She has turned into such a Mommy's girl.

Friday
More of the same. I stayed home, Brandon went to work.

Saturday
Jenn came over to help me with a sewing project. We didn't get very far because the kids kept interrupting us and we couldn't figure out the pattern. Oh well, my inner Martha Stewart will have to wait.
That evening I ventured out to the grocery store. My first time driving since Tuesday!

Sunday
We went to brunch at the casino to celebrate my mom's and mine birthday's. It was fun and the food was great. Jaedelyn loaded up on bowl after bowl of ice cream and Anika was enjoying tasting food and then spitting it out!

I can't believe that Anika is walking now. she took her first steps on Christmas eve when she was in our office and started walking towards Brandon's Husky pillow pet he had gotten for Christmas. She started doing a little bit every day and now she will go at least 8 steps on her own!

Jaedelyn has started speech therapy at Hazelwood Elementary and she really likes it. she goes once a week. She was supposed to have therapy today but the teacher was sick so Grammie took them on a trip to Olympia to see the Greats.

Tomorrow Anika has her 9 month pictures with Sara at 35th Place Photography and then....Jaedelyn and I are taking Grammie to see Beauty and the Beast in 3D for Grammie's birthday! WE can't wait!
Brandon has football practice in the morning and then he will take care of Anika while we are at the movies.

No Time Like the Present

I have realized that time is going by very quickly and I haven't been able to keep up on things in my life like I have hope to. I am going to make an effort to write here what my family has been up to so that I can keep track of all the blessings I have in my life and not get caught up in the things that do not matter.
Anika is 9 and 1/2 months old now and Jaedelyn is 4 years old. I can't believe how quickly time has passed.
Jaedelyn constantly surprises me. She is such a good girl and I can see her maturing before my very eyes. She says the funniest things like, "Don't worry mommy, you can wait while daddy and I go on the roller coaster."

We took another trip down to the greats so that daddy and grandpa could go hunting. I don't know why they had to drive to where they were hunting since there were lots of deer in the back yard!

We celebrated grandma's birthday by having a work party at her house. Grandma and mommy and I got to use uncle Kenny's fancy truck to go to the garbage dump. I really liked Kenny's struck!

When all the work was done we ate and had a fruit tart for desert. Grandma let me like her plate clean!

Christmas 2009

In search of the perfect Christmas tree. This was our first year getting a real Christmas tree at our house.

Mommy woke up Christmas Eve morning very sick. She decided to go to the Svinth gathering at Kevin and Gretchen's house any ways. That was not a good idea. Mommy ended up having to go to the emergency room in Gig Harbor because she was so sick. the only pictures we have from Christmas are the ones that cousin Ricky took for us. thank goodness grandma Kathy and great grandpa Pete were there to take mommy to the hospital and that the rest of the family took care of me.

This was the first Christmas that we were going to spend Christmas eve at our house. Mommy was so sick she doesn't remember much of it. Grandma Kathy, uncle Kenny, aunt Edith, and the Greats came over to our house Christmas morning.

Then we headed down Montesano. Mommy was still pretty out of it so she didn't go to the Wisdom gathering. The next day the Briscoes came over and we had more of Christmas.

Halloween 2009

Halloween started off this year by a trip to school for a Halloween party. I had so much fun. I got a little tired at the end because if was past bed time. After the party we drove to Great grandma and pa Briscoe for a quick visit and then drove the rest of the way to Montesano for the weekend.

Today I went to Remlinger Farms for the first time. Aunt Shannon invited us to go and I am so glad that we did. I was happy to have grandma Kathy and Debbie with us. We met up with Malea and her parents Shannon and John, Malea's grandma Linda, aunt , and Kristina and uncle Ryan. There was another family in our group but I only remember Lauren, the little girl.

Mommy took me on the BIG blow up slide. It was funny watching her carry me up the inflatable steps!

And we ended the day with picking out a pumpkin! I picked out the most perfect pumpkin.

I am such a lucky girl. I got to have two birthday parties. Grandma Kathy helped out a lot with this one too. This party was a girls only party!

Today we celebrated my 2nd birthday. Grandma Kathy gave me a great party at her house. The house was full of balloons, it was so fun. Lots of people I love were there like great grandma Mary Ann and great grandpa Pete, grandma Debbie and grandpa Dave, uncle Lloyd, uncle Kenny and aunt Edith and grandpa Tim and grandma Linda and of course mommy and daddy.

As usual I began my party fresh from a nap. I was so excited to see all the balloons and yummy food.

Preschool Musical

Today I had a performance in my daycare's version of Preschool Musical. My class and I sang, If your happy and you know it, and Move it Move it. I was a little shy at first and then I started getting into it and I didn't want to get off the stage. After my performance I kept getting back on the stage with the other kids! Mommy and Daddy and grandma Kathy and Grandma Debbie and grandpa Dave were all there cheering me on!

This year, just like last year we went to the Melting Pot. This time was a little different because unlike last time where I slept most of the time, this time I wanted to run around the whole time. Mommy and Grandma Kathy took turns walking/running around with me.

Thursday April 23rd

Today daddy finished the fence. Mommy and I are so proud of him! While daddy was finishing up I was working on my chalk art.

YEA!!! The fence is done!!!

I'm so excited that I had to do my happy dance on the sump!!!

To celebrate daddy took me to get an ice cream sandwich from the ice cream man!

Sunday April 19th

Daddy was up and working on the fence by 8am today. He got quite a lot done. I think we'll be done soon. It is very exciting and mommy and I are very proud of him.

Saturday April 18th

Daddy has been working on fixing up the side yard for me and today it was time to start building the new fence. I was there to lend my fence building expertise.

I was having fun walking on the old fence.

I had to make sure daddy knew how to mix the cement.

Sunday March 29th

Today mommy took me to JCPenny's to get my picture taken in my Easter dress. We met Emma and her mommy Rheanna there and us girls got our pictures taken together. Emma and I had so much fun wearing matching dresses.

Saturday March 28th

Today I went to cousin Gretchen's house to celebrate cousin Nicole's new baby. It was fun to see the Svinth side of the family again. I'm so excited to have another new baby cousin to play with.

Mommy made a diaper cake out of the gifts that great grandma Mary Ann, grandma Kathy and aunt Edith and us got for her. It was a lot of fun making the cake. Mommy let me help a little bit!
